Learning to use the cloud has never been easier, but it’s never been more important either. With Making Tax Digital just around the corner, it’s essential that businesses get to grips with cloud accounting now, before it’s too late.
What is Making Tax Digital?
MTD (as it’s otherwise known) is HM Revenue & Customs’ new digital tax system. VAT-registered businesses turning over more than the VAT threshold (currently £85,000) will need to use MTD to report and file all of their VAT returns from April 2019. The new system should speed up the time it takes to file VAT returns, but businesses who have yet to experience cloud accounting may struggle. That’s why it’s so important to start learning now!

Businesses which use cloud accounting software save a lot of time. So much so, they wonder how they ever ran a business without it. Having your documents in one, secure place (the cloud), having instant access to your accounts, and being able to collaborate with your team and accountants remotely should tempt you enough.
Have you ever been abroad, at the airport, or somewhere far from your home or office and needed access to an important invoice or financial document? Not having this sort of financial information available could make or break a business deal. Cloud accounting totally eliminates the need to keep on top of a physical paper trail, as you can work on the go, whenever and whereever you are in the world (providing you have internet access – but where doesn’t these days?)
