Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!
Mark Thomas, Assistant Manager, Business Services
Mark works in our Business Services team and has been with KN for almost 2 years after having 13 years accountancy experience dealing with SME’s.
What is a typical work day for you?
I take clients’ books and records and use them to produce a set of financial statements.
What is your most enjoyable aspect of working here?
I love the work ethic of the entire team, everyone is hard working and helpful to one another. I also love the interaction with clients, especially when you are resolving an issue or adding value for them in some way – it’s the reason we are here.
If you weren’t an Accountant what would you be?
A professional footballer of course!
Who inspires you?
My family and my colleagues
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
Too difficult to choose just one place, I don’t go on holiday to the same place twice as there is so much to see in the world. I do love Italy though and went to Australia on my honey moon in 2016 and loved it there too.
What’s one of your pet peeves?
Americanisms, which are creeping into the Accountancy world unfortunately – Inventory, receivables, payables, etc.
If you were an animal what would you be?
My favourite animal is a dog, but I’m not sure I would be one. I’m quite happy as a human with opposable thumbs, intelligence and language!
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Gianfranco Zola (when he was playing for Chelsea, on a match day!)
