Who’s Who?
Introducing the Who’s Who? corner of our monthly Newswire…
Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!
Amy Carter – Business Development Coordinator
Amy has been with the firm for 11 years and is responsible for helping carry out the firm’s marketing and business development campaigns.
What sets Kirk Newsholme apart from the rest?
I think there’s a genuine sense of being part of a team at KN…everyone is considered no matter what your role and there’s definitely a unique ‘family’ feeling that I’ve not felt in other organisations.
Tell us a bit about your role
Being involved in lots of different areas at KN means I work with people across all teams. I could be helping to raise the firm’s profile on social media one day, tracking the firm’s growth the next or overseeing our trainees and their apprenticeships another day. I’m quite creative too so like to put that side of my role to use when I can. Sounds cliché but it keeps me going knowing that every day is different.
Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
I’m a bit of a foodie so to be a food critic for a day, getting to taste some of the most well-known chef’s dishes and then writing about them would be an experience. Not sure I could be as brutal as some of them though!
What are you currently watching?
I have a 15 year old daughter so have been shamefully dragged in to the world of Love Island – it’s addictive but glad it’s over now – never seen so much non-existent swimwear in the shops as a result! My 12 year old has had me watching season 3 of Stranger Things too which I got hooked on – great finale! I’m still waiting to catch up with Big Little Lies and Killing Eve though which are a bit more ‘me’. Also loved Fleabag and Ricky Gervais’s Afterlife.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
I love Italy – the food, the people, the sights. Swimming at sunset in Lake Garda at Limone and Sirmione the other year was pretty special. I love taking breaks around the UK too – we moan about the weather but some of the beaches are amazing on a good day – Norfolk’s North Coast – Holkham and Wells beach, St Ives in Cornwall, West Coast of Scotland to name a few – we’ve had some of the best holiday’s in this country…the weather just makes them more memorable!
What’s on your bucket list?
Having just completed Tough Mudder Classic at the weekend with a team of us at work, I’d say that’s one down! Having said that, I’m not a massive adrenaline junkie at heart so it would be more down to places I’d like to visit – Hiring a yacht around the Amalfi coast would be up there. Or doing a road trip sampling the best food and wines around Italy sounds ideal to me – Rob Brydon & Steve Coogan ‘The Trip’ style….not sure I’d be quite as entertaining though!
