3 Peaks Charity Challenge!

Our team of ‘3 Peakers’ were keen to set a date for this year’s charity challenge of walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in 12 hours, following the postponed event from 2020 and with a fixed date of Saturday 23 April the challenge feels ever looming!!

The team donned their boots and kicked off the training last month with a trial run of Pen y Ghent.  After the storms we endured the weeks previously, we welcomed the crystal blue skies and sunshine for our climb with spectacular panoramic views across the Yorkshire Dales when we reached the summit – a sight to behold…and also a sharp reality check of the scale of the challenge as we looked across to the other peaks in the distance. Whilst there’s still more training to be done – the team are up for the challenge which will be our greatest feat yet!

I’m not sure what the signal is like at the top of Whernside, but if technology allows we’ll keep you posted on the big day – follow us on our social media pages to see how we get on…

Whilst in previous years we have committed to supporting local charities, this year we felt we could not ignore the devastating effects of the Ukrainian crisis and will be open to donations for both the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal as well as our local mental health charity Leeds Mind.  For every pound donated to the DEC, the government will match to the value of £20m.

We appreciate any support and donations given https://www.justgiving.com/team/TeamKN3Peakers

Thank you.
