Helping clients to automate bookkeeping processing

At Kirk Newsholme we have expertise in helping clients make the most of accounting and bookkeeping software to help improve efficiency in areas such as bookkeeping. One piece of software we have been helping a number of clients with more recently is Dext – bookkeeping software used to improve efficiency by streamlining our clients’ data processing. The software is used alongside compatible accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and more. It connects to accounting software to automate the processing of purchase documents, sales documents and bank statements.

How does it work?

Documents are uploaded to Dext through various methods, including the ‘email-in’ method which can be most helpful where a client uses CRM systems for producing sales invoices, or receive regular invoices from suppliers. The ‘email-in’ address can be copied in, to allow automatic filing within Dext upon receipt when invoices are sent out.

Dext also has the ability to automatically populate some of the areas involved within manual bookkeeping processing, such as reading contact names, category of costs/sales, values and tax rates etc, all of which can be set up by our team and tailored to your needs.

Benefits of using Dext:

  • Automation of processing which improves efficiency
  • Attachment of documents to transactions within accounting software which allows documents to be easily found and allows for paperless record keeping
  • Real-Time access to records which improves communication of data to accountants and allows for timely financial advice
  • Expense management functions which allow employees to manage their own expenses, with access to management to view and approve expenses
  • Multiple submission methods make the software easily accessible and straightforward for users
  • Export of data into various formats, such as CSV, to allow for import into accounting software and production of reports
