What changes have you seen in the firm since your time here?
A lot has happened in the 15 years I’ve worked here. When I first started we were a team of just 20, and now we’ve grown to almost 50. Technology has changed significantly too. Instead of having a room full of filing cabinets, everything is now paperless and most things are sent via email rather than post. I’ve also got a few more grey hairs too!
What is a typical day in the life of James?
I process payrolls for clients, help with queries regarding payroll software, auto enrolment, government legislation and deal with company secretarial work.
I occasionally get asked to do the odd spot of photography too and seem to be the only one who knows how to change a toner cartridge!
If you weren’t a Payroll Administrator what would you be?
A professional photographer of course! You might have noticed some of my work in our office Reception.
What, or who, are you a “closet” fan of?
Salsa dancing! I attend regular classes, although it has seen me incur the odd injury over the years.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Trek Machu Picchu, a stay at the Ice Hotel and I’d love to be able to turn up at the airport and take the next random flight somewhere unknown.
What’s the strangest talent you have?
I am very good at train surfing.
If you were a cartoon character who would you be?
Danger Mouse or Speedy Gonzales
What is your favourite flavour of crisps?
Pringles Sour cream and chive
