David joined Kirk Newsholme in 2025 having previously been a group audit partner at a Top 60 UK firm. He is ACCA qualified and has over 21 years’ experience in undertaking statutory and internal audits for a number of SME’s and some larger, more high profile companies across the UK, Europe and North America.
David works alongside Andrew Thomas to lead the c20 strong audit team and specialises in working with complex groups mainly operating in the manufacturing, engineering and property/construction sectors and has a history of advising entrepreneurs from start-up through to exit whilst also working with PE backed and listed entities (FTSE, AIM and Acquis). In addition, David has in excess of 15 years’ experience in carrying out audits on Solicitors Accounts Rules and Not For Profit Organisations.

About me
I have a 4 year old and a 2 year who keep me on my toes and I can usually be found at a play gym on a weekend. Where I can find 5 minutes away from the kids I do love to watch sport – in particular rugby league, cricket, golf and football.
