Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!

Lyndsay Midgley – Business Services Manager

Lyndsay joined the KN team 4 years ago and helps manage the Business Services team, primarily looking after those clients who require regular bookkeeping and management accounting services.

Tell us a bit about your role at KN?

I am a manager in our business services department. We cover quite a range of services from undertaking bookkeeping, preparing management accounts and analytical information, cash forecasting and budgeting,  as well as the more standard preparation of annual statutory financial statements for companies. I tend to work closely with a smaller number of clients and can often spend several days in any month with a business either providing a senior accounting function or supporting the internal accounts team. I particularly enjoy analysing data and providing clients with information to help them understand and improve their businesses.

What sets Kirk Newsholme apart from the rest?

I think the combination of our size and our independence gives us the edge. Our independence allows us the flexibility to prioritise our client’s individual needs and respond quickly to their specific requirements. At the same time, we have a team large enough to offer excellent technical support to our clients and each other. I joined Kirk Newsholme because I wanted to work for a company where more than just the standard service was provided and I really think we do go above and beyond.

If you weren’t an Accountant what would you be?

A herpetologist – Google it!

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?

My cat. She looks to have a tough life, curled up in a box by the radiator all day and dinner served on request.

What are you currently watching?

I’m currently binge watching Lovejoy

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

It depends. Our back garden is a haven where we can escape from the world but otherwise there are some quiet beaches in Jersey and some superb Gasthofs hidden in the Tyrolean Alps which draw us back time and time again.

Have you any New Year’s Resolutions?

I may have unwisely signed up to run a half marathon.
