Steven Wotherspoon, Senior Accountant
Steven works in our Business Services department and came to Kirk Newsholme after leaving school, starting as an Apprentice. Last month he passed his final Accounting exam and is now a fully qualified Accountant – Congratulations Steven!
What is your most enjoyable aspect of working here?
Definitely the variety of work I am involved in and the clients I work with. I have a great base of clients who I see regularly and have really good relationships with which makes it feel less like work.
What is a typical work day?
The majority of my time is spent preparing management accounts for clients which often involves a couple of days a week on site at clients’ premises.
If you weren’t an Accountant what would you be?
In the summer holidays when I was at school/college I used to do some labouring for a local builder so if I wasn’t here, I could have been building your extension!
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
There’s no place like home.
What’s the strangest talent you have?
I wouldn’t call it a talent but I have size 14 feet which makes me quite the swimmer!
If you were a superhero who would you be?
It would have to be Deadpool. An ability to heal would come in very handy for rugby injuries…and we are both cheeky!
What is your favourite food?
It has to be fajitas.
What’s one of your pet peeves?
When it rains just after washing your car!
