Hugo joined KN in 2024 following graduating from the University of Leeds with a Maths degree. He works within the firm’s audit team, has recently completed the ICAEW CFAB qualification and now looks forward to starting his L7 ACA study to become a qualified chartered accountant.
Tell us a bit about your role and Kirk Newsholme…
I am part of the audit team at Kirk Newsholme, so my role involves being out on site at clients and ensuring client’s financial statements are accurate.
What would you be if you weren’t an Auditor?
If I wasn’t working in audit at Kirk Newsholme, I wouldn’t really know what to do myself, I’d prefer not to have to think about this please 😉
What are you currently watching?
I’ve currently being rewatching the Dune movies in preparation for the final chapter coming out this December, very excited to see this!
Where is your favourite place in the World?
My favourite place in the world is 4315 Park Approach, Leeds as this is where the audit magic happens and I get to reconnect with my fellow audit colleagues after being out on site for most of the year!
What’s on your bucket list?
I would really like to watch the League of Legends world championships in person, as I have followed this since 2013 but never managed to attend it as of yet, I would also like to meet my favourite player – Faker.
If you were to be a debit or a credit, which one would you be and why?
That’s a good question! I would personally be both a debit and a credit as debits and credits must always balance and I like to think I bring a balanced and equal approach to the audit team.
What’s your favourite food?
My favourite food is definitely the Greggs pepperoni pizza slice, I personally think this is just a masterpiece and something that is more of an experience than just edible – a nice warm pause in the middle of a busy day 😊
