Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!

June Gleeson, Office Manager

June has worked for the firm since 2001 and oversees all areas of office management.

Tell us a bit about your role and what it’s like to work at KN

In February I will have been with Kirk Newsholme 19 years which goes to show what a great company Kirk Newsholme is to work for.  Our philosophy is based on caring for people.  We endeavour to care and support our staff so that they in turn can care and support our clients.

My role at the firm is varied, I help with clients’ company secretarial work be it preparing and filing confirmation statements to appointing and resigning directors.  I do the firm’s book keeping, payroll and general housekeeping!  I enjoy the fact that no two days are ever the same and my work is varied, and I will always help where ever I can.

What would you do if you weren’t an Office Manager?

I was brought up on a dairy and sheep farm and it was not unusual for me to help milk the cows before coming into work with a 4.30am start!  I would also take my turn with the night shifts and when lambing I have been known to come into work without having been to bed, but I always made sure I had showered – I don’t think my colleagues would have appreciated the smell of sheep!  You may have guessed that if I didn’t work at Kirk Newsholme I would have liked to have been a farmer.

What are you currently watching?

I am currently watching the trial of Christine Keeler, though my regular diet of television includes Countryfile and numerous cooking programmes as I am a keen cook and baker.

Where’s your favourite place in the World?

A small Greek island in the northwest Aegean Sea called Skiathos which is the westernmost island in the Northern Sporades group, east of the Pelion peninsula in Magnesia or for anyone who has seen Mamma Mia it’s where that was filmed!  It is a very relaxing and pretty island.
