Whos Who
Introducing the Who’s Who? corner of our monthly Newswire…
Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!
Keson Kugathasan – Audit Semi-Senior
Keson joined KN in September 2021 and is currently studying towards the ACA qualification. He is a Semi-senior member of the firm’s Audit team and works closely assisting the senior on the firm’s client audit jobs.
Tell us a bit about your role and Kirk Newsholme…
I’m an Audit Semi-Senior currently studying towards the ACA qualification. My work usually consists of helping the team complete sections on the audit file, during the planning, fieldwork, and completion stage. I enjoy the nature of the job as I’m usually working on various client, in differing industries, throughout the year.
I have been at Kirk Newsholme for over 2 and a half years and appreciate the time and support given to me when I have sat my exams. The social events put on by the firm have been really good and I’m looking forward to our next social in May at the Pontefract Races!
What would you be if you weren’t an Auditor?
Potentially a professional cricketer, although I don’t think I would have got very far. Growing up I played in the Middlesex cricket league for my local team throughout all age levels and I represented the University of York cricket team whilst completing my undergraduate degree. It’s a sport I really enjoyed, and I am keen to get back into.
What are you currently watching?
I’m currently watching Baby Reindeer on Netflix, which is based on real life events from Richard Gadd who also stars in the series. It’s been very intense and has thrown up some very interesting discussions with my partner after every episode.
Where is your favourite place in the World?
Kandy in Sri Lanka, it’s a place where my dad spent part of his childhood growing up so is always nice to go back and see a different way of life. It’s also home to one of Sri Lanka’s largest tea plantations and is some of the best tea I’ve ever tasted.
What’s on your bucket list?
To go to a Formula One race weekend…when Verstappen stops winning every race!
