Whos Who?

Introducing the Who’s Who? corner of our monthly Newswire…

Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!

Leanne Johnson – Systems & Processes Manager, Kirk Newsholme Financial Planning

Leanne joined Kirk Newsholme Financial Planning earlier this year with over 20 years’ experience in the industry.  Leanne is responsible for the database and systems used by the Financial Planning team with a view to improving system integrations, streamlining and automating processes.

Tell us a bit about your role at the firm: My role is to review the different computer systems/software we use at Kirk Newsholme Financial Planning to see if we are using them to their full potential, whether they can be used more efficiently, whether they can be integrated with each other and ultimately whether they are fit for purpose. I also review internal existing business processes to ensure these are comprehensive so all required steps are completed whilst trying to keep a balance with time efficiency. The main aim is to save time, avoid data entry duplication and to minimise potential errors in order to improve the overall client experience.

If you weren’t a Systems & Processes Manager what would you be? I always used to say if I could turn back the clock I would have been a midwife but as I have got older, I have become a bit squeamish so not sure I would cope now in a medical environment. My alternative would be something in the travel industry. In my heyday, I used to be a holiday rep and loved that experience, more so now, I love researching holiday destinations whether that be for myself or others so a travel agent would be more suited. If it was up to my husband we would either run a campsite or have a small petting farm/zoo!

What do you like to do in your spare time? I’m probably deemed as slightly odd here but I don’t really watch TV/films, read much or listen to much music (other than in the gym).  I do like bake off and will watch it if it’s on when I am around but I’m not the type of person who’s day is ruined if I miss a TV program. My ‘me time’ is either spent in the gym, out walking or researching my next holiday or bucket list destination!

Where’s your favourite place?: Having recently come back from a Caribbean cruise, I would have to say Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. It is Disney’s private island and it was pure paradise. I have never been to the Caribbean before but if you had asked me previously to describe what a paradise island looked like, Castaway Cay would be it.
