Each month we’ll interview one of the team here at KN to tell you a bit more about themselves and their role….after all, everyone loves a good nosey don’t they?!

Lucas Hardwick – Assistant Accountant, Business Services

Lucas works within our Accounts team supporting our clients with their statutory accounting requirements as well as completing management accounts and VAT returns and is looking forward to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant towards the end of 2026.

Tell us a bit about your role and Kirk Newsholme…

I have worked at Kirk Newsholme for just shy of three years now and I am studying to become a chartered accountant, having passed 9/15 exams so far. In my role as an assistant accountant, I prepare year end accounts, management accounts and vat returns and enjoy the variation with the clients I work with across different sectors.  When the opportunity arises, I particularly enjoy visits to client premises and gaining a deeper understanding of their business.

What would you be if you weren’t working as an Accountant?

I have always been into agriculture and liked the idea of having my own farm out in the countryside somewhere, however actually doing the early mornings and physically demanding work might be a bit of a put off!

What are you currently watching?

I have just finished watching Leeds win the championship and look forward to them doing the same again in the premier league next season 😃

What’s on your bucket list?

To go to Japan and specifically Tokyo, A good friend of mine is moving out there at the end of this year so a visit may be on the cards. I would also love to go to an Oasis gig however the tickets seem to be impossible to find!  Radiohead would also be great to see if they ever started touring again.
