This month a team of KN volunteers nominated themselves to help with a local community project at the nearby Temple Newsam Estate. Our team was led by a Park Ranger to help clear some of the bridleway of the estate using a variety of tools such as scythes and wooden bats to cut and beat down a large field of head-height bracken and brambles to help maintain the grounds.
In 30 degree heat it was no mean feat but was an excellent opportunity for some team building and a great sense of achievement was felt by the whole team in being able to give something back to our community… and all done with proper ‘old-school’ equipment – not a strimmer in sight! Well done team.
